An Introduction to Luka Darkroom

The Luka Darkroom is an independent film lab and a community for black & white film photography — a collaboration between talented photographers from the University of Illinois and the Champaign-Urbana area– all working closely to bring the art of film photography to the rest of the world.

At the heart of the darkroom are founders and photographers Luke Bial and Tim Chao

Luke and Tim built the darkroom in the winter of 2011. Now, the space is open to the public with a vision of creating a learning environment for both experienced and young artists.

Inside the Luka site, you will find our passions, our photos, and our community. It is our goal to present you the Luka darkroom world. Maybe it will inspire you to start capturing the moment around you.
